“Anthony and Leeroy have done an exceptional job in bringing Wahroonga on Bourke to life. From the large painting creating an impact within the space and influencing the colour palette throughout, to their attention to detail in the locally distilled welcome gin, it’s presentation referencing the story of the property and connection and acknowledgement of country.

We loved using the Tasmanian ceramics by Lindsey Wherrett, enjoying the handpicked list of local wines (also very reasonably priced!), varied selection of leaf teas, locally roasted Provenance coffee, super comfy king sized pillows and luxurious Lentara toiletries.

Leeroy and Anthony are thoughtful, attentive hosts that have clearly invested time curating an exceptional experience for their guests and elevating local artisans, producers and small businesses within their offering.

We look forward to recommending Wahroonga on Bourke to our friends and clients from far and wide, although have a feeling they may struggle to get a booking once word gets out!”

Location

Launceston, Tasmania

For many years the palawa people referred to this land as palanwina lurini kanamaluka meaning ‘the town near river Tamar’. Anthony and Leeroy have been living in this town near the river for over ten years, with their dogs August and Campbell.

In 2021 we purchased Wahroonga (Kuringgai word meaning ‘our home’). Our home is built on a former bluestone quarry, the same bluestone used to build Sacred Heart Church, whose spire is viewed from the left bay window. We are working to return the house and garden to its former glory realised by Thomas Rawson in around 1901.

Enjoy your stay, rest, revitalise and explore the beautiful town at your doorstep.
